"Here's the deal: I have a 1970 70hp, it will idle fine. When I put it into gear, it will go but there is very little acceleration. It seemed like it wanted to accelerate today for a brief while, but then it just went back to its old way again. Sort of bogged down. Any advice?"

"Two stroke outboard carbs have jets for high speed and low speed. The residual fuel in the bowls turns to gunk quickly, and then gets a varnish like consistency thereafter. It is very common for the jets to become fouled, especially if the engine sits for any length of time."

Model number..... Should be a

Model number..... Should be a plate on the port (left) transom bracket that's bolted to the boat.
