"I am having difficulty separating my V-6 from the stern drive. Seloc says to remove the bell housing bolts and slide the engine forward about six inches. I have plenty of room to do so, but the two act like they are still hooked up. Is there anything else holding the two together other than the bell housing bolts? Am I just dealing with a spline that has been togehter for 40 years?"

"they tend to rust, but make triple sure you got all bolts out - dont pry too much- aluminum breaks easy... need to try to get some penetrant to the splines from underneath..."
