alright replaced the bellow and the gimbal bearing on my 1986 3.0 but for some reason i can get it all the way on up to about a inch and a half then it it just wont get on ... cleaned the splines on both drive shaft and where it connects into the engine i pressed the gimbal bearing in as well but it seems as if the inside of the gimbal bearing is getting resistance from the drive shaft since the drive shaft is kind of tappered?

Question does the drive shaft also be compressed on to the gimbal bearing aswell if so how .... or any other suggestions

no but the manual said i didnt need to unless i removed the engine to..

anyways i got it back on but i still get this weird loose almost knocking noise when the trim is all the way up but when i lower it the noise goes away. also when i rev it up no matter the position the noise goes away as well

Did you check your u-joints?

Did you check your u-joints? Sounds like they are bad. You shouldn't run the engine much (or at all) with the drive all the way up. This is very hard on the u-joints.
