We have a Perkins 4236 diesel

We have a Perkins 4236 diesel inboard stern drive engine on our river cruiser and the engine has recently seized. We have been looking for a fully reconditioned Perkins 4236 engine but not having much luck. We have found a Perkins 4236 "that needs to be marinised". Does anyone have information on the extent and cost of the work involved in marinising such an engine and whether a marine mechanic can do that work or if a specialist is required? Any information and/or advice would be welcome.

You should be able to switch the exhaust manifold and other "marine" items straight from the old motor to the new one.....
