"I checked past posts,but could not find much on what type of gear oil can be used in a 5.0 1986 outdrive.I can get mercruiser gear oil but I have an abundance of 80w140 gear oil.Do you think this would work?.I'v used this type of oil in my 40hp evinrude outboard lower unit for almost 10 years with no problems.thanks for any help."
