"Is it possible to upgrade the horsepower of this outboard to 50HP by installing a 50HP carburettor jet kit? I believe the basic engine size is the same, not sure.

If you have the 2-str

"Terry,
If you have the 2-stroke motor, you already have a 50hp that has been detuned to 40hp by reducing the size of the carbs and exhaust tube. Look for a blown 50 on ebay for cheap carbs, the 50hp exhaust tube is only $40US. You may have to reprop to keep your motor under 5500rpm."
