I have a 2006 Volvo Penta 3.0

I have a 2006 Volvo Penta 3.0 engine that was diognosed with a crecked block becouse of milky oil. I replaced the block with a new one and took it down to a local machine shop. I had it magnafluxed and then pressure tested both tests were negitive. is it posable to still have a hairline crack? Are their any other methods of checking for cracked blocks that are more reliable?

"A block cracked in the right

"A block cracked in the right place will cause milky oil but that is not the only failure that will cause milky oil. In my opinion, if the tests you describe did not reveal a crack, a crack there probably isn't.

You could do a 'dye penetrant' test, then there is an 'eddy current' test.

Search here on 'milky oil' match all words. Lots of info."

thank you for the info. I will do the search. I don't think their is a crack but I realy want to be 100% sure b4 I take it back to the dealer.
