vacuum line (if I understand you) should connect to the fuel pump. there should be a clear hose running near the fuel line to a fitting on the pump.

If the old carb did not use this vacuum connection, then plug it and go boating.

"Boyfriend is not computer user, but he has me in search of a carburetor diagram. We have 1986 Chris Craft and he and his buds have rebuilt the carburetor, after installing it is making a high pitched sound, like the sound of a bad fan belt on a car. Any suggestion on where to find diagram or suggestions of what may be the problem?
