I have a Mercruiser 260hp Alpha 1 in an 87 4-winns Candia 200.
I got the boat out of winter storage last weekend. Cruising the lake at close to full speed, the engine will slow down like the throttle lever was pulled back (but I didn't). After several minutes of this, I couldn't get the boat to run and got towed in. I replaced the most of the ignition system. Coil, Cap, rotor, wires, plugs and installed a new fuel filter. The engine definitely runs better, but I still have the problem where the motor slows down on its own from full throttle. Suggestions?
