Alpha 1 Tube running from transom down backside of sterndrive

"I have an Alpha 1 Gen II and

"I have an Alpha 1 Gen II and there is a tube the comes out of the transom and runs down the backside of the sterndrive. It then clips right in the middle where the lower end & upper end join. When I pulled the boat out this weekend, the tube was disconnected. I clipped it back on. I'm wondering what this tube is, and should I worry that it was disconnected?

sounds like the speedometer (pitot) hose....is your speedometer working?
 
My speedometer is not working!

My speedometer is not working! Thanks for the answer. I connected the pilot hose & now everything works perfect.
