50L Mercruiser Idle problem

"I have reccently purchased a 2005 Sea Ray 200 Select with a little over 50 hrs. on it. It has been garage kept and hardly used. It is the fule injected 5.0L engine.

I have taken it out and put about six hours on it and usually cranks and runs perfect, however if we stop and swim a while sometimes it will crank but not idle... On two occassions I have began to tow it in and while being towed it cranked up and had no further problems that day.

I would put it in the shop, but I am not sure if they could duplicate the problem...

Any ideas???"

If your IAC is bad you can usu

If your IAC is bad you can usually still start the boat by pushing the button that keeps the drive in neutral but it allows you give the boat some throttle. If you can start the boat with this method it is usually the IAC and it needs to be replaced. They cost about $100 and take 2 minutes to change.

I have replaced the fuel filter and there was some water in it. I will run it more and see if this is the fix....
