I recently had

7.4 L Bravo 1
I recently had some work done and when I picked up the boat I told my mechanic that he forgot to install the exhaust bellows. What he put on was what I describe as "half" a bellows. It lines up with the lower unit when trimmed down but is open when the drive is up. I trust his judgment and it seems to work fine. Can anyone shed any light on this? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

It works fine and has no adverse affects on anything. I also makes bellows replacement easier not having to attach it to the bellhosing........"
