"How do you remove the throttl

"How do you remove the throttle handle on a Quicksilver 3000 Classic shifter? I see a set screw on the bottom, removed that but no help. Does the handle supposed to pull off hard. Boat will not start, kill switch is in the run position, I wiggled the throttle handle and it started, I think I may have a problem with the neutral interlock switch but I can't get the throttle handle off to check if I have a bad wire. Please help."

pull it straight out (If it's the same as mine) I took mine out last week. My trim/tilt button is on the throttle arm. I removed the allen set screw at the bottom and it pulled straight out.
 
There should be 2 yellow w/red

There should be 2 yellow w/red stripe wires going to the Commander. They are connected to the neutral safety switch. You can jump them temporarily w/a blue quick connector to take the switch out of the circuit for testing.

"Thank you For all the help. I got it to work, I followed the yellow wire back to the motor and found that it was loose and corroded."
