"Had the boat out this past weekend and went to give it some power and just as it started to plane out, the motor (Yamaha 115) seemed to rev and I lost power. This happened several times and I had to come back in slowly. I hope this isn't a major repair.
Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated."

"well if your in gear and start going lets say 20mph and you give it gas and the motor revs up and u slow down or keep the same speed, spun hub

you can mark the prop with a marker through the prop shaft
take a boat for a spin
come back and look at the marks"
 
Boat is on trailer...if I take

Boat is on trailer...if I take the prop off will there be any sheared pin or spline or anything like that to look for?
