I generally work on smaller sailboat engines. I've replaced the fuel filter on a Cat 3116 300 hp diesel. It's not clear how to bleed the air out of the new filter. Is there a manual lift pump?
 
My 3116s have a round knob on

My 3116s have a round knob on the side of the engine close to the fuel filter. Turn it a 1/4 turn and pump and pump. Of course it works much faster if you fill the new filter before installing.
