"I have a 1995 Yamaha 50 hp 4 stroke. The tach quit working a few weeks ago for part of the day out. While the tach wasn't working, the engine idled fast around 2000 rpm. The tach began working again and the idle slowed back down. I had the same issue today. As soon as the tach started registering again, the idle speed slowed back to around 800 rpm. Any ideas?"
