i have a 83 cobia with a omc o

i have a 83 cobia with a omc outdrive.the engine is a chevy v6 but cant tell what litre.can anyone help me find this out.i need a new engine and need this info.thanks

"Oh boy! Unless you can find a legible serial number on there--and find out what it means-then you are in trouble. Chevy made a bunch of those in several different sizes and, worst of all, different firing set ups (even fire, semi-even fire, uneven fire).
