Rust on intake manifold Mercruiser 57L

I was told by the mechanic in

I was told by the mechanic in the yard that there was a decent amount of rust on the intake manifold.. is this a serious problem. approximately how much is a new manifold?

"Jamison, Is the rust on the inside or the outside? I run some two-cycle oil (~300::1) in my gas to keep down the rust in the motor. If the rust is on the outside, grease it up to keep it from rusting through.

You can price a new manifold at an auto parts place. That is if you can get the correct one. Autos changed over to fuel injection long before boats did. If you have an old boat, you may find what you need. If you can get a crossover to an auto application, you also can visit the local junkyard for the manifold."
