"Make sure that water pump is functioning properly, ie, a steady stream of water from the "pee" hole. I have a late 80's DT8 that I just purchased 3 or 4 months ago. I use it as a kicker motor on my boat and it is the best one I have ever had. It's quieter than any of my other OMC products, smokes less and runs smoother. It's oil injected and it seems to work great!!"
