"i am in the process of putting back together my old boat. its a 1975 galaxy with a 120 mercruiser stern drive. it has a hydraulic/electric sender not the electric on the gimbal ring. there is no trim gauge on the panel and it looks like there never was one. the hydraulic sender shaft is there but the electric sender assembly is not. from what i can tell there never was one hooked up but then again i did get the boat after it was taken apart. i was wondering if the hydraulic shaft can be removed and bypassed without any problems. here is a pic of what i am talking about. http://media.stemtostern.com/default.asp?image=http://media.stemtostern.com/LSDA TA/LSDATA_FULL/CRUISER\56999\23.GIF i want to disconnect the #2 hose from the sender and run it to the pump where the #1 hose connects and remove the sender. would this be ok to do?"

nope not leaking. just missing

nope not leaking. just missing the sender assembly and mounting brackets so its just kinda hanging there right now. the reverse lock is still in place.
