"I know I should be able to troubleshoot this but I'm drawing a blank. Engine turns over from key switch and starter solinoid, but no spark @ plug or coil wire. Sugesstions? What should be hot at the coil?"
 
Never mind!! I cleaned the p

Never mind!! I cleaned the points and all is well! A tip to find bad points is to check the voltage @ both sides of the coil and follow the wire to the distributor. If you have voltage all the way up to the points then you are not getting the ground through the points!! This assumes the points are closed!! Happy boating!!

Good deal! Recommend you look into going to a Petronix all electronic system when you get the chance. Everyone I've heard from who did raves about it.
