"Hi all. Having a hard time finding the easiest access to the spark plugs on my 2001 Bayliner with 190 hp mercruiser 4.3l Alpha I. I see the spark plug wires but cant seem to follow them to the plugs from the top of the engine block. Is their an easier way to get to the plugs or a special tool needed??? Really dont want to pay hundreds at dealer for a simple tune up.

Thanks,
Rich"

"You need to remove any side panels or seats that are in the way. Beyond that, you'll need a ratchet wrench, an extension and a socket. The one I use has a swivel on it and that definitely makes it easier. Use the same kind of plugs that it came with (should be AC MR43TS) anad gap them to spec, .035" and put a little anti-seize on the threads. You're due for plug wires, too."
