Drive leaking oil from water hole

My lower unit is leaking oil o

My lower unit is leaking oil out of the hole on the starboard side that water streams from when the muffs are on. This just started. Could it be I over filled the gear case? Or do I have an internal problem?
 
"It's either the oil seal

"It's either the oil seal on the vertical shaft where it enters the upper gear case or (less likely) the oil seal (quad ring) between the upper and lower unit that's leaking.
With a drive that old, it wouldn't hurt to replace all the software. If it's not bad, it's probably close."

Thanks. I opened up the vent screw and it released a bunch of pressure. I'll open the lower drive tommorrow. I was hoping the problem was overfilling. Guy I bought the boat from 4-2005 said all seals were replaced in 2004.
