" Is this motor water cooled or air cooled??? It does not "pee", so it's staying out of the water until I know for sure. I just bought it & the guy told me that it was air cooled. i cheked many websites, including Yamaha's & this particular info is not there. Is this motor air cooled??? Thanks folks....J "

I'm not familiar with that motor, but I can't imagine that it is air cooled. Check the manual or the the Seloc book for Yamaha outboards, sounds like you might have a bad impeller. Do you see a location to pick up water?

your 2 hp yam will be waterco

your 2 hp yam will be watercooled if no cooling fins present on the flywheel it will be watercooled change yuor impeller

" This model is water cooled,if you look half way up the shaft you will see 6-8 small holes or if it is one of the newer models it will have a black baffle there with a single screw.This is where you will see a fine mist of water cooling which will increase with speed. "
