Oil injection outboards are a mystery to me. Can an oil injection engine be converted into an old fashioned pre-mix fuel engine? Can anybody aim me at a book that tells how to do it?

"Chris.... Simply plug off the oil line leading to the VRO fuel/oil pump (the large black plastic item with all the hoses attached to it) so that the oil side of the VRO will not be drawing air. This converts the VRO to a standard fuel pump, then mix the 50/1 fuel/oil mixture in your tank(s) (50/1 = 1 pint or 50/1 oil to 6 gallons of fuel). You'll also want to disconnect the warning system from the VRO pump... follow the wires from the back of the VRO to a rubber connector and simply unplug it. Remove the oil tank and also disconnect the wiring from that item... trace the wires back to the engine area and disconnect them there.

I have a 40 hp evinrude 93' removed oil mixture and fuel pump unplugged all wires engine will not crank now. What do you suggest.This is concering taking an oil injection off.
