"If I idle for a few min's
"If I idle for a few min's then hit the throttle to full throttle the engine at times bogs down and will die. Then at times if you try to idle up then hit the throttle the boat takes off. When it does take off it runs great, I just can't count on it everytime some times it just dies.
Can this be any way related to exhaust manifold risers? As I have never changed them and I am just wondering if this could be part of the issue, water getting into intakes?
I also am thinking of replacing the carb. with a Holly 650 cfm versus the Rochester that came with the engine. I have had this carb. rebuilt several times and everyone says these carbs have issues? And one more thing I still have points in the ignition system would converting this over to a CD system with one of the available conversion kits, possible help this system?"
