"I have a 1988 Mercruiser Alpha 1 2.5L. It starts well,idles well and runs well until about 2500rpm at which point it surges and on occasion pops through the carburetor. As soon as I throttle back a little it seems fine. Is this a fuel problem? Also how many fuel filters are there along the line on this engine?"
