"Just a quick question...at a cold start (boat has been sitting for two days, say), should I get a "dual squirt" of gas in the carb for every pump of the throttle, no matter how many times I pump? No cranking going on, just pumping.

I'm guessing it will peter out after a few pumps, but I wanted to make sure."

Both nozzles should squirt a measured amount of fuel into the venturis with each throttle pump. This will only last as long as there is fuel in the float bowl.
Now if you have a unencumbered electric fuel pump (direct connection when the ignition is ON) the float bowl will continue to get gas and the accelerator pump will continue to pump when the throttle handle is pumped.
