I have a 1990 Regal Valanti wi

I have a 1990 Regal Valanti with a Mercruiser 305 and an Alpha One outdrive. Is there a way I can find out what year the motor is ? I want to know if it is the original. The flame arrestor cover has a tag that says 0L038729 and the block tag by the starter says L0G8729. Any ideas??

I'm bettin' it's the original,...
The 1st # has too many letters,+ the 2nd # would be the right 1, if the "G" is a "3""
