Engine runs good. Had the water pump changed the summer before last. My problem is the alarm. It is fine until I get on plane. As soon as it planes out or a minute after the alarm sounds. There is no change in performance or sound of engine. If I slow to idle or a little faster than idle the alarm goes off. Strange thing is it does this most of the time but not all the time. Any help is greatly appreciated

"First make sure that both your oil tanks are near full. Next buy a cheap 20 dollar infra-red temp gauge (You can get one at any hobby store or off eBay, Duratrax makes a good one). Run your engine for 5 minutes and take a reading right at the stat housing. Run your engine to plane and take a reading and then wait for the alarm, take a reading, and compare the two. My guess would be that you're have a short in either the oil or temp wiring and it finds ground when the boat hits plane/and or when your tilt your motor to bring the boat to plane."
