I have a 188 ford v-8 sterndri

I have a 188 ford v-8 sterndrive. The previous owner stripped the threads on the carb where gasline inserts causing a small gas drip. It's a two-barrel Rochester carb and my question is can I swap out the top of any Rochester two-barrel carb from a junk yard ford? thanks for your help

The carb threads are stripped

The carb threads are stripped where the fitting that holds the fuel filter screws into the carb itself. The threads in the top casting of the carb are stripped
 
There is not alot of aluminum

There is not alot of aluminum to work with and could I get the correct size filter holder to screw into the new threads?
 
Remove the part and take it to

Remove the part and take it to an auto parts store. There is a replacement part that recuts the threads. Use heavy white grease to grab the metal flakes. Works perfect. BTDT
