"Hello, just ran across this forum last night. This is my 2nd summer as a boater.

Just bought a new Tahoe Q4 S/F with a 4.3L mercruiser. It came with a 23p AL prop, I noticed pulling tubes and knee boarders it takes a few seconds longer to get out of the hole.

A local boating store talked me in to getting a 4 blade SS 22p prop instead of a 3 blade SS 21p. I tested it out pulling some kids on a tube, shot out of the hole very fast. But am wondering if I would get the same results with a 3 blade 21p.

What are the advantages of a 4 blade prop? Would trim tabs help keep the bow down?"

A three blade 21P will give you a better hole shot, but you'll loose top end speed.

My suggestion: Take the 4-blade back to the store and get your $300 back. Buy a 3-blade aluminum 21P and buy gas with the remaining $200."
