"2003 4.3 Volvo Penta runs great, major problem is starting it once it is hot. If the engine cools down it will start again and run just fine. Does anyone know what would cause this problem? The cooling system seems to be working fine."

I have a 2006 4.3 GXi with athe same problem. Volvo took the computer and reprogramed it and has been great ever since.

"Obviously a fairly common fault, ring Volvo penta, they must know of the problem and the solution. Probably a simple resistor modification to the ECU.

i have changed out starter and

i have changed out starter and new fly wheel and it still will not start after you run it for 3 or 4 miles up river. no one seems to know whats wrong starter doesn't seem to be making cotact with fly wheel need help bad !!!
