There is a large air sucking s

There is a large air sucking sound coming from the throttle control. When you cover the unit the sound goes away. Any thoughts?

"You need a new IAC muffler. No shmit, the throttle body has a hole (kinda square) just over the butterfly plate. the merc dealer will sell you a little piece of white foam plastic, this is your IAC muffler. just put it in the hole and all will be quiet."

"Ak is correct, that hissing noise means your IAC muffler has run away from home. I believe they get blown out (possibly by a backfire) and then ingested, and I've heard they can get sucked into the IAC valve, but I've never actually seen one do that."
