"I am new to working on my boat besides regular maintenance. I took my boat out for the second time this year and when i was just starting to put the throttle down, i heard a snapping sound then a constant rattle at all rpm's and the sound does not seem to get worse with more rpm nor does the sound change when i shift in and out of gear, and it also does not see like i have lost power either. I have a late 80's early 90's glasport with a mercruiser 120-130 hp engine i/o. Does any one know what this might be?"
