"On my 1984 Formula I was trying to check for a loose wire on the coil when trouble shooting the tach I grabbed the positve lead to the coil and wiggled it and the motor quit. I turned off the battery power and removed the positive wires at the coil to clean the connections and reconnected them and tried to restart the motor and it is still not firing. I have not had a chance to recheck the connection, is there possibly a fuse I have blown or could I have damaged the coil?"

Don't think there is a fuse.

What I think you have found is an internal break in the insulated part of the positive wire. Feel the wire from the connector by holding it between your thumb and forefinger nails and try to find the break. It may be right at the connector.
