I have a 1978 Century with a 2
I have a 1978 Century with a 228 drive. I have had and taken care of the boat for 17 years. Boat has never been in salt water. Took the boat out this weekend for the first time in a long while and noticed that the trim guage was not working. Traced the problem to both the limit switch (left side) and trim sensor (right side). All four wires are corroded and/ melted. How do I get these wires out of the transom? It looks like there is some sort of two bolt rubber grommet that all four wires pass through. Is there a way to remove this without pulling the gimbal assembly apart? Should I buy sensors as an assembly...including thru transom wires? Where do you advise that I purchase them from?
