"I have a 5.7 litre 1989 Sunray Mirage The fuel guage has gone south (hanging like a limp noodel) Any tips on trouble shooting, etc."
 
Check the connections at the f

Check the connections at the fuel tank for corrosion. Sender may have quit.
 
From what i understand you pul

From what i understand you pull the sender out and hold a meter lead to the location of where the wire is connected (first take the wire off) the other lead to the plate the unit is mounted on. set the meter to ohms manually move the float and the resistence should change. If it doesn't the sender is bad. If it changes the gauge is bad.

"isolate the problem. ground the pink wire at the sender. guage should peg.if not repeat at back of guage ground to send. if nothing at back of guage, guage is bad. if nothing at tank, but works at guage, possible wireing trouble. if guage pegs when pink wire grounded at guage, sender is bad."
