"Hello,

Does anyone have an alternate part number they have found for a power steering pump on a 1985 170. The boat is an SeaRay SRV255 twin. i.e. Does NAPA still carry a pump? It is not available from MC as expected and a number of other internet sites state the same.

The bearing is got a good screech going on start up and is refusing to fix itself. (Fluid level is fine and not leaking, nor is it belt noise.)

Thanks Guy. I was wondering if there was an alternative to that one as it is $360. It looks and is sized like the GM pump in my former 70's Buick and early 80's GM truck.

Is the pressure relief valve or other feature unique to the marine application? Found one on Breezworks for $65; just wanting to look out for the "buyer beware gotcha's" on any sensible alternatives.

Take the part number to NAPA a

Take the part number to NAPA and see if they have a cross reference. I don't think the pump is marine specific but I don't know 100%.

Can any of you old fellers answer his question?
