On my 1984 Formula the water p

On my 1984 Formula the water pump is brand new but exhaust tower is still hot to the touch. Is there anything on the market that you flush the cooling system with? Thanks Rick

"V8, Alpha 1? Are you referring to the manifold risers? They should be hot but not so hot you can't touch with bare hands."
 
Does the thermostat hsg. have

Does the thermostat hsg. have a "T" on top which sends water to the risers? Yes? There are check ball valves in it for each end. The springs weaken over time and the check balls will stick closed. You are better off to replace the entire T'stat hsg. as a unit since there is alot of rust and scale inside it espec. since it's an 84. I did my 87 and it cools the manifolds and risers much much better.
