"Can anyone verify the year/model of this motor ... sn 400317?
Also, having trouble getting lower unit off to replace water pump. I put shifter into forward and when I pull lower unit down it shifts to reverse, won't come loose and is tough to get back together. Is there something simple I'm not doing right? Help. Thank you.

It's a model 30EL

It's a model 30ELRR, code 6IT L, Ser. no. 400317. This motor ought to be late 80's as I've run it since 95 and it was at least 4 or5 years old when I got it. Thank you for all your help.
