"Is OMC a engine manufacturer, or is it just a marine type of Ford, Chevy, etc? Can I replace a OMC 140 engine with some other type or would it be better to go back with rebuilt OMC 140? Will this motor push a 19.5' walk thru windshield fairly well?"

"Unless I'm mistaken, that's the ultra-common 3.0 liter GM based engine everyone seems to use. My 19 Bayliner did 45 mph with one of those and got great gas mileage at the same time.

OMC made only outboard 'engines'. Not inboard, 4 stroke engines.
