New member here. Had Johnson/Evinrude motors most of my life. Currently have a 1999 Johnson 90 on a Fourwinns 170 Horizon. Been great motor. Seen nothing but genuine OMC products it's entire life. I bought it new. Low hours, garage kept, properly winterized every year. However, I noticed last year whenever I go over about 4100 rpms, I get this strange resonant sound..sounds like a radio controlled airplane. No loss in power, no lights, engine runs fine. Drop below 4100 rpms and it disappears. I can do this repeatedly. Other than that, all is well. No overheating, no oil issues (knock on wood). Any help is appreciated.
