"Launch this spring and the impeller went out of the water pump. noticed engine temp went to 200+, ran for another 5 minutes to head to shore. Fixed water pump. The issue: Upon starting the engine fires for a second or two then shuts down. Engine will not stay running. This engine has the electronic ignition. The fuel system is working fine has a new fuel filter. Any help would be greatly appriciated. wondered if the system has a shut-down trigger or something.

I hope like hell you didn't blow a head gasket (though 200 isn't that hot). Suggest you do a compression check--and keep 'm crossed!

"Got it figured out, a lose wire on the balister side of the ignition switch. Engine would run if i held the key over to the starter position then die when keyed to the on position. Thanks for the advise"
