I have a merc 5.7 in a 2004 ch

I have a merc 5.7 in a 2004 chaparral 220 it has 54 hours on it. The warning horn sounds two beeps intermittently. The owner’s manual says this indicates the stern drive oil level is too low. The drive is full. Reservoir is full and there is no water in the oil. This happened this spring when I started the engine for the first time after a couple months of the boat not being used and the boat has not been in the water. The last time I used the boat prior to the couple months dry storage there was no problem. Any idea what this might be?
Thanks for the help.

"If it indicates low gear oil

"If it indicates low gear oil level, your sensor may be bad. Water in the oil wouldn't make any difference since it only senses the level."
