" I have a Ford Interceptor 31

" I have a Ford Interceptor 312 in a 1960 Trojan and am not having luck replacing a damaged timing cover. Can I revert back to the automotive timing cover and water pump on a raw water system? If so, what additional components if any, I would need?

Desperate in California "

" Don't see many old Troja

" Don't see many old Trojans around anymore. I have a 1963 Trojan-28 footer.I had the Ford Intercrptor engine in mine-it went south in 1989, changed to a Chrysler 240.Retrofit!!As far as the water pump change-I don't think it will work-entirely different principle of operation. But,don't take my word for it-check into it further. I wish I could offer more advice as to were to find parts-I'm sure their out there. Good luck "

" I had a '63 Trojan '

" I had a '63 Trojan '30,kept in Cal.It took 2 months to order a "brass" water pump for the Interceptor from a company in New England. It cost around $300.00 in 1981.A beast to put in.Easier and cheaper to retro motor.Good Luck. "
