Great and helpful site guys! I

Great and helpful site guys! I was helping my friend install the exhaust bellow on an alpha 1. What a fun job without the proper tool! We forgot to put those metal clips on either end of the hose. What is the purpose of those clips? and can he get away without them or do we have to take that s.o.b. hose off again and put them on?
