"Does anybody know what size propeller should be on the F225 4-Stroke. My Yamaha is basicly the same motor as my Dad's 2004 225hp Mercury out board, but his prop is an 18" diameter, but the prop on my yamaha is only a 16" Diameter."
 
it totally depend on yor boat

it totally depend on yor boat and w.o.t rpms. your prop and your dads are interchangable. what are your rpms @ wide open throttle ?you need to run that 4 stroke as close to 6000 as possible where your dad needs to stay at 5500 or less i am asumming yor dad is running a two stroke. ill bet your diameter is larger than his .
 
My dads is a 4 stroke also. M

My dads is a 4 stroke also. My prop is a 19 inch pitch with a 16" diameter. I hit the 6000 RPM reve limiter with throtal in reserve. I think the dealer my have put this prop on the motor because it was one they had laying around. Do you think a larger diameter prop would help the top end?
