i need help on replacing a prop seal please

"The proper method is to remove that carrier assembly that surrounds the propshaft, however that is a lot of work that might lead to other problems.

Note that there are two seals, the one you can see is facing out, the one in back of it faces inward.

Try this, something I've done many times. Using a long thin bladed screwdriver, carefully slide it along the propshaft into and under the outer seal, enough so that you can simply pry it out. Use caution so that you do not scratch the propshaft.

Now do that same procedure with the inner seal that exists directly in back of the seal you just removed.

Clean the surfaces before installing the new seals. Install them carefully and properly one at a time with a punch driver and hammer... the first one facing in, with the outer one facing out. Use a slight bit of sealer of some kind on the outer metal ridges of the seals.
