"What engine oil would be recommended for a 1986 351w with 800 hours on it - runs great, 60lb pressure and I would like to consider a synthetic - an ideas? Thank you."

This is just an opinion. I would stick to a petroleum oil like castrol GT. I have taken down several engines that I used it on and they were always realy clean. I have a 87 PMC 302 and I am sticking to Castrol

My BMW uses synthetic and I converted my other cars to synthetic. You need to prepare the engine for the change by using a good engine cleaner and changing the filter then changing it again after a few hours.

"You can never go wrong with synthetic. It costs more because it is a superior lubricant. Now with idiotic oil prices, the gap in price between the two is less and makes synthetics more attractive.

It's got more detergents in it, and can carry crud in suspension better than dino oil."
